Playing hockey with the Coppertones

My father shared this photo with me. He said back in the mid 70s he played on a senior hockey team called the Coppertones whose benefactor was Herman “Spud” Huestis, member of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame for his discovery of the Highland Valley copper deposit in south central B.C. The team was named after Huestis’s favourite cattle breed. He kept a herd in Abbotsford and, according to my father, threw some great parties.
