This is how divisions can break down barriers

Step back in time with us as we celebrate the innovative spirit of CIM! Did you know that in the mid- to late-1940s CIM created new technical divisions for members with specific interests, allowing for a specialization in specific fields? This paved the way for many mining professionals and academics to thrive. And in 1954, CIM broke down barriers by allowing women to become members, including prospector and mine developer, Viola MacMillan, president of ViolaMac Mines Ltd., and future president of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.
